Suleiman I Suleiman I, the sultan of Turkey during the zenith of the Ottoman Empire, became known in the western world as Suleiman the Magnificent. He was also known among Turks as the Lawgiver because he revised the legal system of the empire. Suleiman had several sons, two of whom he executed after quarrelling with them. |
