Strangford Apollo The Strangford Apollo, a marble statue from Limnos, Greece, dating from c. 500 BC, is an example of the type of standing male nude statue called a kouros, one of three types found in Archaic sculpture. Apollo, god of light, purity, and the sun, was often depicted in ancient Greek art.
